Commonwealth of PA Honors the Great Stoneboro Fair
A plaque, honoring The Great Stoneboro Fair as one of the fairs in Pennsylvania which has promoted agriculture for 100 years, was commissioned by the Sec. of Agriculture, Mr. Dennis Wolff. This plaque was personally presented to the fair by "Fairs and Agriturism Marketing Manager" Mr. Eric Cowden when he attended our fair in 2006.
The "Mercer County Agricultural and Manufacturing Society of Stoneboro"
organized its fair in 1868. For eight years it was situated on a lot between the
heavily traveled train tracks and the town's scenic lake.
